Not sure what to say.

So seeing as the only person following me that still uses this blog is Ashes, who can't be here to watch over me, I am doing this as an attempt at a regular update, seeing as we don't talk as often. (get Tonz over here so I could fill y'all both in!) haha

Clearly, it's been a ridiculously long time since I posted. Blame school. But I really would like to get back in the habit of a blog, so this is my 2nd attempt haha

Quick update - finally finished first draft of English IA, attempting to do some French homework, and will be going to the SLY Turneeb Tournament this afternoon! Exciteddd.

Got a super long week ahead, and have Music Festival to add to that. I am now entered in 7 categories, and am freaking out! Eeeep

But got stuff to finish, so this is just a quick recap.

Love and miss you! Byeee

Another quick update.

So I can see that my blogs are rather....sporadic. I've just been a little out of it since I came back from one of the most amazing adventures I've ever been on.

I went to Guadeloupe for about 2 weeks with my mom and amazing cousin Louann.

It was definitely a life-changing experience for both Lu and me. We experienced things there that neither of us will ever forget. We were actually only supposed to spend 10 days there, but on the Thursday that we were supposed to leave, we started crying, so my cousin pulled some strings and got us seats on the Sunday flight back. Needless to say, we could not have been happier :)

I did a lot of new things while I was there...maybe a bit too many to talk about, but I'll mention the important things :)

I pretty much met my family. My whole family. Which, in case you didn't know, is pretty damn huge. It was amazing to get to know them and spend my time with them....I'll never forget them.

The first Saturday that we were there, I went to a Hafli! Which is basically a big Arab party haha. It was so fun! I got to learn how to Dabke (traditional dance), I got to enjoy the food and music, and I definitely got my fill of zaitoon! :)

I will never forget all the little daily adventures in Le Moule with Lulu, walking through the streets, checking out swimsuits (I bought 2!) and visiting all the cousins. It definitely was an experience. And I must say, I am now a pro at buying things from French bakeries. Les boulangeries FTW! :)

Being in Guadeloupe was also a little bit of a culture shock for me. All the Arabs there know Arabic, whereas I do not. I mean...even my 6 year-old cousin knew some things. It kind of hit me that I should get to know more about my culture, and I've been working on that since I came back.

One of my favourite places in Guadeloupe was Pointe des Chateaux. It was a hill with a huge cross, and one of the most spectacular views I've seen. One of the most glorious things was being able to stand at the top and look down at the sea, feel the wind blowing through my hair, and smelling the salt-watered mist engulfing the air.

Saying goodbye to Guadeloupe was officially one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through with, but my heart knows that I will return.

Infinite Xs and Os,
Faerie.

Back from my hiatus.

Hm...so it's been a while since my last (well....first) blog. Just been super busy with a mixture of things, the main contender being Music Festival.

Ah...Music Festival. A great competition. Stressful, but great nonetheless. I must admit, however, that I am not very impressed with the outcomes of most of the categories. Honestly, the adjudicator definitely cheated some deserving people out of first place, but you didn't hear it from me.

But let's not dwell in the past!

Last night,I went to Jazz Artists on the Greens. And I must say that it was super enjoyable :)
And there was an amazing Cuban violinist who just completely stole my heart <3 :)

However,I don't really have much to update on (seeing as I'm a 15 yr-old in Trinidad and not living the life like my big sister kicking ass in Ireland :P), so maybe I'd have more to talk about after Easter ;)

Peace out!

Saturday 13th February.

Just another one of those February 13ths...

I was never much of a supporter of Valentine's Day, for the main fact that I don't believe that there should be one specific day in the year where you should be nice and sweet to and buy things for the person you love and remind them how much you love them - that should happen often enough.

The way I look at it, Valentine's Day is just another of those commercial dates. It's nothing.

Yet....I can't help but feel lonely at the time when I look around me and see people I know being all lovey-dovey with their significant others. Like today - I went to TGIF with a bunch of my friends, which consisted of two couples who, I must admit, were rather adorable. But it was just a reminder of my loneliness. It was...well...sweetly sickening.

It occurred to me that they all have someone who cares about them, while I'm sitting at home trying to stream New Moon so that i can FINALLY watch it, but the internet provided in Trinidad is just crap.

But then it occurred to me that...well...it's not necessary to have a valentine. Because it's not important. Why would I want to have someone just treat me like a princess on this one specific day? My time will come when I'll find someone who will continuously and spontaneously treat me the way I deserve to be treated.

And who knows? Maybe he'll even take me to the cinema so I won't be catching my ass to stream the movie online.

XOXO
